Hello,
Inga by faithful 1986 245DL (215K, Auto, 21 Year old Swede, big plastic headlights) was humming along in traffic yesterday morning when here comes a big retread of a truck also known around here as a gator. Hit under the car hard a couple of times fairly hard and went out the center of the car. No damage to paint, tires, or trim. And better yet the driver come to think of it.
Noticed the temp was staring to climb up next light when I got off the freeway. Got to work and got it parked before it touched the red. The fan cowling had been knocked out of the lip that held it on the bottom and the fan was not turning. Easy fix all that is good now. However now the Stick bounces hard to the right when the car starts. Also it will not go into reverse every time, and there is extra vibration.
Thinking the gator must have busted some sort of tranny mount. What do I look for, and if busted just how hard a job is this to do? Also have a rear seal leak, how much trouble will I get into if I try to do both. Think 3 on the mechanical scale when you make your suggestions.
Thanks in advance for your guidance,
PT
