Hi, i am a new owner of a 1966 122 amazon. I picked it up in Tucson, Az and pulled it all the way back to NYC.
It has lived its entire life in Tucson mostly on a ranch as an occasional drive into town. In the last three years its most recent owner prior to me drove it mostly around town. I have already driven it on a few minor voyayges in and around the nyc area. The one thing that is perplexing me at the moment is the way the car shoots out a huge plume of white smoke every time im in fourth gear going at the engines maximum speed and i then either depress the break still engaged in fourth or just slow down without applying my foot to either the gas or the break. It is when i slow down from either of these scenarios that it shoots out the plume of smoke. It seems as if the engine can't handle the tension of being in gear and slowing itself down. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
thanx
