help with intermitent no start 200

i have a very intermitent no start problem with my '89 245, (twice in six monthe
since i replaced the main fuel pump). On cool damp mornings my main fuel pump will not cycle until I turn the key a few times , and then it will start and run fine. I can hear the fuel pump relay click but the main fuel pump will not
cycle. I suspect a loose/corroded main fuel pump ground but I am not sure.
I would apreciate any advice before I begin to try and diagnose the problem.
Also, Where is the main fuel pump ground located? Thank you in advance for your replies.
