I'm a recent owner of a 93 940 Turbo and I have read numerous problems on stalling. Often the car stalls within 1 minute of cranking. I changed the in-tank fuel pump, the fuel pump relay, and the fuel injector relay or radio supression relay. Does the fact that it stalls almost instantly offer any clues? However, there have been a couple of times when it runs great for long distances; however, those are very rare. Its recently ran good after I let the car parked for over two weeks.
My next likely replacements are the idle control valve and the fuel pressure regulator. One Volvo shop suggested that the throttle body needs cleaning. It looks fine to me; however, I am willing to take it off and clean it w/cleaner. Any insight why the car shuts down so quickly after starting would be appreciated?
