Bought a set of cruise control ('90) for my car ('91). Just found out that the previous owner for some reason put a pre-89 turn signal switch in the car (with cruise control). the 4-pin connector from the turn signal stalk doesn't match the 4-pin connector on the cruise control computer harness.

The questions are:
1) if i match up the wires, will the pre-89 stalk work with '90-'93 computer?
2) how do the wires match up? i know what each wire from the stalk is for (from volvo tech bulleting tp30808), but have no idea about the harness.
