I have been trying to diagnose why my 83 244 B23F has been sluggish during acceleration. When it was at it's worst, the car would have little power and have what I believed to be a lean misfire.
I suspected that I had a vacuum leak but was unable to find one.
After reading a few posts regarding the AMM, I unplugged the AMM and now the car runs great. It stalls when I stop, but while my foot is on the gas, there is no hesitation.
Should I replace the air mass meter, or is it possible that it's something else, like a connnection or other part related to the air mass meter? Is it possible to clean or repair the air mass meter? I'm not too excited about buying a new one at $250.
Thanks for any suggestions.
