They still love the old 240s! 200

True story- happened to me today.

I took my '92 wagon in to Capital Volvo in Albany for NYS inspection. I usually wait for it, but something came up at work and I had to leave it for the day.

Now- its a decent car- looks pretty good for 283,458 miles but definitely not perfect and no show car. Looks nice from at least 20 feet away. VCOA sticker on side window. IPD suspension and a few other parts. I didn't expect any problems with inspection but hey- you never know. It's old, right?

Capital has been good to us so far- the parts guys know me pretty well. It's been years since I've had anything more serious than an alignment done there, but they still treat me well. Once, I took my wife's '88 in for inspection and a tech fixed a corroded wire problem with the high brake light for free. Another time they fixed a parking brake assembly for free- also for inspection. Pretty cool at the stealership. They do take NYS inspection pretty seriously, which is why I take our cars there. If I miss something, they don't. They always check a bunch of other stuff as well, and let me know if they think there's anything I need to attend to.

Anyway, I'm at work all day and never get a call from Capital. I figure no news is good news. A coworker drops me off at about 4:30 to pick up the car. As we drive up, from the road, we see that they have my car WASHED AND PARKED OUT FRONT IN ONE OF THE OUTSIDE SPOTS FOR SHOWCASE DISPLAY CARS! I get inside and the service managers says that I'm all set, and if I ever want to sell my car, two of the techs want to buy it!!! She goes on to say it's one of the best 240s they've seen in a long time, and the tech said it was perfectly maintained- couldn't find ANYTHING wrong. She then goes on to say how excited the techs get about having an old car in the shop.

I still can't believe they parked it out front like that. That was cool.
