oxygen sensor 200 1993

-1993 240 wagon.
-Poor city mileage - air filter change helped
-Major improvement w/ new oxygen sensor? (ebay purchase/don't know if ever changed)
-Complicated to replace? Other repair "areas" close to that spot for mechanic?
-see aftermarket at about $30 (not sure how many wires), Groton different models and big price difference - any recommendation?
-Last - how often ideally change (per manual AND personal experience for best running and (hopefully) best mileage.
