I have a 1990 760 Turbo in very good condition. When I start the engine cold I get some pretty pronounced knock. I talked to my indie mechanic (a really good guy) and he basically said "Don't worry about it". The knocks and clicks go away as soon as the engine warms up and it runs very well.
The problem I have is until it warms it has really low power. I feel like I could push it and make it go a little better but it just doesn't feel like pushing it would be the think to do.
Any ideas on the cause of low power when cold? Could my knock be enought to cause the knock sensor to retart my timing??
Thanks in advance.
