I'm considering the puchase of a 1990 740 gl sedan. It seems to be in fair to good condition, some minor cosmetic issues, the front red leather seats not so good and some interior plastic trim trouble. The more important problems for me are the Radio antena is broken off, and the radio will not come on just a dim red light in the pre-set buttons the seller says its an anti theft feature and requires a code available from volvo with the vin #. Also the heater/ac blower makes a wicked noise and not out put but can be made to work properly by repeated rapid on/off with the switch. Most troubling is the high crank case pressure. When running oil sputters from the oil fill cap(plastic)and when the dip stick is removed one hears the puff of air reliving the crank case pressure. with the oil all over the engine compartment I can not determine the seal condition.I'm assuming its the pcv system clogged as per the literature found on this sight. I can purchase this car for $1200 and welcome opinios regarding price and any caveats to watch for. Thanks
