Hi All,
I've starting hunting down the numerous electrical demons afflicting the 122 I got about a month ago. First order of business - the horn.
Rather than employ the "Kwas Method" or "mousepad method" I've read about here and on Swedish Embassy, the previous owner opted to rip out key components of the horn assembly. I'm hoping to correct this.
According to the diagrams in the Haynes manual and on Genuine Classic Parts, it looks like there's a doodad on the steering wheel end of the ground wire -- not the two plates sandwiching foam, but what looks like a spring loaded contact attached to the end of the wire.
Does anyone have a picture of this, and how it connects to the steering wheel (if at all)? On my car, this part is either missing, or has fallen down the steering column, never to be seen again.
Assuming it's gone for good, can anyone offer advice on how to reconnect the horn without this doodad?
Thanks!
