My recently acquired '83 245 is rust free, I've checked it carefully. So I've been assuming it has no firewall or windshield leaks. Today, however, I found some water on the vinyl floormat (driver side) and the carpet was wet underneath after a heavy rain.
I had a jackstand under the front passenger side only giving it a substantial lean. Does anyone think that the anatomy of the exterior air vent in front of the windshield is such that it could leak or overflow into the inside of the car if it is leaning to one side? I know that leaves can find their way into the blower area.
Thinking (hoping) this might be the case, I added another jackstand to level it. Does anyone share this theory or should I look further?
