Vacuum lines 700 1987

Hi folks,

When I popped the hood and took a look around (trying to find all the engine grounds), I saw that the big vacuum hose to my TB (left side; runs to the vacuum canister) had popped off. The end had split, and I cut the split end off and pushed it back on.

Then, following all the lines around the canister, I found two hose 'ends' hanging near the canister. One is held in a clip above the driver side headlight, and I followed it (I think) to the wiper fluid T-connector on the hood. What the...? My washers work, so what does this hose do? Where does it connect?

The next hose end is sitting deep in the space between the washer fluid reservoir and the vacuum canister. There's a scary spider web there, so I didn't reach down and jiggle it (there are webs all over my engine! It sat for months! There's a web in the space between my timing cover and water pump, too...).

Anyway, are there supposed to be open hose ends near the canister? I can't see anywhere on the canister or fluid reservoir that they would go.

Thanks. I'll get the hang of this Volvo thing someday....

Ari
