what else if the 2 little odometer gears appear solid and intact 200

today i took apart the speedometer because the odometer has been acting oddly. it works and then it stops. it seems to be speed related as well. the higher the speed the less apt it is to work. and on cold mornings lately it does not work for 20 miles or so.

after taking apart the relevant part the little 25/26 tooth gear is 100% intact and spin freely and is clean not oily or gunked up.

the large 15 tooth gear that the little one sits on is also in 100% good shape.

what other areas should i look at?
