Leak in Fuel line 200 1982

I detected a slight less than pinhole leak in the metal fuel line from the main pump to the Fuel filter.due to corrosion. I did a temporary patch job.Do I need a new metal line or can I use a tubing cutter & install an 8mm / 5/16" F.I. rubber hose with FI clamps ?
