Popping door driving me crazy 900 1995

I did a search on the 'popping' or 'cracking' noise door hinge syndrome and didn't really find an answer. So... how exactly do you lubricate these door hinges to make them stop making that infernal noise? This is a '95 960 and it's the lower door hinge with the stop mechanism incorporated into it. There's a big kinda U shaped bar that seems to make the noise but I cannot figure out to make it go away. Anybody had success with this problem?
