A/C stopped blowing cold air S90-V90 1998

My wife's '98 V90 has stopped blowing cold air altogether. It has a problem that seems to be symptomatic with cars that have the climate control system, namely when the accelerator is depressed, the air goes away, and then comes back once it's let off. This is different. It is not blowing any air at all, although I can hear a quiet sound coming from the vents.

Several years ago, I posted a message here, describing a similar situation with an '88 765ti I used to own. I tried searching for it, but didn't have any luck. I'm sorry to say that I'm hazy on the the specifics now (wish I could find that old post), but I did receive a response from a forum subscriber explaining that there was a sensor (or something) behind the glovebox that was the culprit. I replaced it, and the A/C was back in business, although, same as with '98 V90, it was back to blowing cold air as long as the car wasn't accelerating.

I haven't removed the glovebox on the V90 yet, and I'm wondering if I'm gonna find a lot of SRS-related stuff back in there.

So, I have a couple of questions. First of all, do you happen to know if the 90-series (and I'm assuming 960 as well) uses this same sensor or whatever and would it be located in the same place? Second, do my symptoms sound like this is the problem? Wish I could find that old post . . .

Best,

Michael
