Hello all. I'm finally at a point where I am going to honestly replace my headliner - problem is, the largest fabric shop in town can only get white/cream colored headliner material in 1/8" except for 30$/yard. I plan to bypass this by using 1/4" and vinyl on the sunroof - the shop has a couple hundred colors to choose from.
I've been wanting to reduce driving glare by putting in slightly darker (not black or dark blue) headliner. The shop said it looks funny, but I think it would make a nice change. The car was originally forest green, but has been painted gold (doesn't show the incessant dust at my parents house). I still miss that pretty green color.
As a result, the hood, the black, shiny dash, the bright leather interior, and the headliner all reflect light at me. I want to put in a slate grey/ blue-grey maybe a shade lighter than say... a confederate soldier's uniform, but more grey than the union's. (I don't know why, but those colors seem good for this).
Has anyone tried it? I really can't stand the white color. I'm always wearing sunglasses theses days, even in the winter, because of the glare.
Thanks all,
-Will
PS And I did find a new sunroof screw assembly. From a 900. I think it will work, they seem to be the same.
