I am selling a spare used engine wiring harness (part no. 3515397 - 1983-84) on ebay. My question has to do with the ICU plug-in. I have read that Volvo recommends replacing the entire harness if this plug is unplugged from the ICU. Should I recommend that the buyer cut, solder and shrink-wrap each wire near the plug and leave his ICU plug installed rather than risk a bad connection? It seems ridiculous that Volvo would have created this situation given that the harness is such an expensive part. Surely some of you have dealt with this situation. Thanks ahead for your thoughts on this.
