I have a problem that is apparently common to many 700 series - a rear corner of the sunroof (passenger side in my case)is sagging.
I have pulled off the liner, looked at the mechanism, and found the problem - the bar that goes across the panel was cocked, and the passenger side was ahead of the driver's side. The crank was loose, so I unbolted the gearbox, straightened the bar, and bolted it back in. This worked for all of two days. Then it sagged again.
I think I heard the cable slip when the crank clicked loudly. Why would only one cable slip? Is there a fix for that? I don't see a whole lot of lube on the tracks - maybe one side sticks more than the other? Is there a particular lube that is better for the sunroof mechanism?
I also had the problem where the roof hits the pop-up deflector in front, but raising the front edge on the adjusting screws fixed that.
