Insulation on fuel delivery pipe 200 1985

On the fuel delivery pipe is an insulation tube of black rubber. There is a barbed fitting where the fuel line attaches to the fuel rail and the rubber tube is fitted onto the barbed fitting on the rail. Should I attach a clamp to keep the insulation tube fitted to the fuel rail, or is it okay for it to be loose there. The insulation hose runs from the fuel rail down to the lower part of the car where the firewall transitions to the foot board. I'm probably being anal about this, but I suppose the insulation is to keep the fuel from trying to vaporize before it gets to the injectors.
