240 DOOR ALIGNMENT 200

While backing the car up in reverse with the driver's door open (yeah, I know, not the brightest thing I've ever done), I managed to bend the door back and now it's out of alignment. The front edge of the driver's door now comes in contact with the rear edge of the driver's side front fender. When I open or close the door the two come in contact and emit a gut-wrenching CRACK!

When I manage to get the door closed, it seems (when I look at the door from the outside) that it has moved forward ever so slightly (toward the front of the car); so that the panel gap between the front door and the rear door is wider than the gap between the front door and the front fender.

My question is: Will the hinges allow for this sort of front-to-rear adjustment? Or do they only accommodate a upward to downward adjustment or outward to inward adjustment?

I'd hate to replace the hinges! Help!
