the saga continues....went to clean the throttle body today...when I pulled the air intake hose bellows it snapped off near the throttle body. i replaced this piece several years ago witha scan teck piece which is way mor stiff than the oem unit. I have no idea if there was a crack in the underside of the hose before I messed with it, but I am attempting to fix it. since it didn't snap off totally (just 80%) i used a piece of bailing wire to fashion a staple or hog ring on the other end to hold it together. I then used around 1/2 of a tube of black rtv silicone to seal the crack all the way around. when that has cured I will wrap the whole deal in duct tape. hopefully it holds. would a crack in that bellows make my cold starting difficult? i would think that it wouldn't make any difference at idle since it is up stream from the throttle body which is closed at idle. any thoughts?
