Can I get rid of the thermostat? 200

It is pretty warm here in Hawaii in summer time and it never gets below 50 in the winter. It bothers me a little that My 91 240SE station wagon would run with the temperature gage needle slightly above the normal dot.

I am thinking of getting rid of the thermostat so that coolant circulation would improve. Am I making a bad decision?
