As I'm about to replace the dash top on the 240 after replacing the blower motor, thought I'd better double check for any rattles etc. before bolting it back in. Found only one, but I cannot get to the source of it. Here is the scenario: start engine while vehicle is in "Park"...no noises so far. Step on brake pedal and a soft ticking sound is heard. Release the brake pedal and the ticking stops when pedal fully retracts. Accustomed to being upside down while replacing the blower motor, I once again resumed the position when attempting to locate anything that may be vibrating against the brake pedal assembly. Nothing touches the pedal bar anywhere. Softly press the pedal with my hand and the ticking sound resumes. Release and the ticking gently quits.
Could this ticking sound be originating in the brake booster? If not, any other possibilities?
