I've got a complete 1971 D-jet system installed in my 1967 122S. I've got no spark (waiting on parts) so I can't start the car, but I've been trying to verify that fuel is pumping through the system.
I turn the ignition to KPII and hear the relays click and hear the suction back at the tank, but extended cranking puts no fuel into the system.
When I crank, I can hear the hiss and when I turn the ignition off I hear the hiss as well.
I suspect that there may not be sufficient pressure build up in the fuel tank, but I'm not sure how that works. Is the pressure on the return side or the supply side?
Is my fuel tank cap insufficient to seal the tank? I have a 5-sided waso cap on there now.
