Volvo Smiths tach wiring question 140-160

Jus got a Smiths tach that I plan on wiring up on the steering column. I'm unsure of the wiring though. It has 5 leads: 2 short back wires (grounds?), 1 short white wire (light?) and 2 longer, heavier gauge white wires (1 is about 6 inches longer than the other). Anybody care to enlighten me as to the correct wiring connections so that I get it right the first time?
