780 re-fit 700 1988

After looking at the B280F engine in the 780, I have decided to repower the car to suit my driving habits. Since it is going to be used for long distance touring, the first prerequisite is the availablility of parts on the road. That pretty much limits the drive train and electronics to Ford, GM, or Chrysler Products. I am also planning on 300 HP and 22 to 30 mpg on the highway, which dictates a computerized fuel system. One of the engines that meets those specs is the 4.3L engine from the Lincoln Continental. I believe that one is a 32 valver, and it is rated at 300 hp in stock trim. This is going to be a two year project so feel free to throw out some suggestions.

Regards,
