Non-volvo ? stuck+broken exhaust stubs 700

Ok, so I helped my friend pull an engine for a saturn a couple weekends ago. Turns out somehow in transport or something, two exhaust studs broke off.
They tried EZ-outs, and now an EZ-out is stuck in one of the studs.
It is the two studs at the extremes of the engine head.

Anyone have any ideas? I was looking at something like a T-coil (improved helicoil) and just drilling out the old threads entirely, but with a stuck EZ out.....
