Can someone tell me completly how to do the 134a recharge kit on my 90 240 sedan. I know I should read up on ac systems and will do that.

1. It seems I change out the outlet refilling nuts on the compressor itself? They come with my kit. I should if I was a really good person have it evacuated. I am sure it is empty though and did not have a whiff of pressurized r12 in it, dont ask me why.

2. Then I just follow the instructions on the kit. The kit has a guage on the refilling handle.

This is the $35 fix. Will I find out that it leaks, probably at multiple places and need to invest in tools and dies to find out? Should I take it to an ac place to have selective things done such as vacuuming and leak testing? What should I buy? It seems I should buy a new receiver dryer, an expansion valve, and the hoses. What would those pieces cost? The tools I should buy are vacuum pump and set of guages, which brand do you recommend? I dont really care if it costs me $200-300 hundred in parts and tools, I want to learn the system. Three of my friends cars are non-volvos and have non-working ac. I would like to know how to fix theirs in general.

3. Which of the replacemnet parts will be very tedious and time consuming to replace. I am thinking that I might have to take the dash apart?
