Here's the breakdown:
'89 740 Turbo
240k
Drove home from work the other night, parked the car. Started up about 9 hours later, got onto the main road, and had next to no power. My main fuel pump had been making intermittent noise for a while, so I chalked it up to a failed in tank pump. Replaced that today, (silenced the main pump) and I have just a hair more power, but still not right.
Specifics of the problem:
Starts right up.
Idles normally.
Slow acceleration is not a problem.
Fast/heavy acceleration yields a stall.
When the car is in gear, I've got to accelerate like I've got an egg under my foot to get anywhere.
Cry for help:
If you've got ANY ideas or have had a similar problem, PLEASE REPLY!
Thanks in advance,
Robb.
