Let me start by saying that I am no fuel injection guru. In fact, I'm pretty new to all of this. Oh, and I tried searching...
When I first bought the car it would start up on command with a little jab of the throttle. 2500 miles and 3 weeks later (yeah, I know) I'm having trouble getting it to start when cold (granted it's colder outside now). Not one to ask a question without consulting the manual, I have done and noted the following:
- re-gapped points to correct specs
- changed plugs
- replaced fuel pump with another used (and working) one
- pulled out cold start injector and tried to start the car--noticed fuel coming out (how much should be coming out?)
- adjusted the air-flow sensor plate to as close to the center as I could get it--also, the 0.02" distance between the plate and stop is correct on one side, but not on the other, so the arm is crooked (is that even possible?)
After all this, it's exactly the same, and I have exhausted the book's help.
I haven't looked for a vacuum leak or changed the fuel filter, but if it was either of those it wouldn't start up well when warm, right?
Where do I go from here? Any help would be appreciated.
Oh, and the car runs awesome once it's running.
