92 240 performance upgrade 200

I was wondering if any of you more folks with more experience with the 240 could give me advice. I have a bone stock 92 240 with a 5 speed. It had good torque down low but runs out of air before it revs up enough to make any HP. I ordered a K cam and adjustable gear from Avalanche Performance, but I don't want to install it until I have the other parts needed to make it work well.

My question is, assuming that cam is capable of moving more air and producing more HP (obviously at the expense of low end torque) where will the flow restriction be? Should I look at the intake or the exhaust? I could have the intake extrude honed for about what a long tube header costs.

Which side of the head should I be looking at to remove restriction? Anyone have any experience with the "K" cam they would like to share?
Thanks in advance!
