740 vs 240 1988 ignition coils 700

Are they really any different? bought 240 $30 vs $55 740 round coil to save money. Will the 240 coil work in the 740 car? Both are 1988, fuel injected w/ electronic ignitions. Looks similar, just different lugs. Any definitive help appreciated - 740 GLE still running w/ over 300,000 miles.
