dreaded Heater Fan failure on '82-245 200 1982

After squealing and losing power for a month , the Heater Fan in my '82 Volvo 245 finally quit ( just in time for winter in Wyoming ! ). Foreign car mechanics are rare here. My own skills are not good. Cost is a great concern. This look like a real pain in the ass to remove the driver's seat and disassemble the console to get to the buried blower fan. At least that's what I see in the online guides. I am daunted.

Can the entire fan-blower cage-whatever be swapped as a unit if I could find a used one ?
