brakelight switch replacement--you're kidding! 200

To all of you who responded to my trouble with my brakelights for my 1990 240dl wagon--thankyou very much! I have learned some very useful things! Using your information I did trace the problem to the brakelight switch, got it out, and have plugged the new one in, and now have brakelights. Problem. After much cussing and standing on my head and listening to the door open ding-dong in my head to keep the engine running to get full brake pedal displacement it now seems almost physically impossible to reach up around the mounting plates, steering column, brake pedal etc. and get this switch fed into the plate from behind. So close and yet....So, unless someone has a trick up their sleeve for this procedure I may be forced to go the the local volvo guy. When I asked him about it he said "that's why we charge $80 to change it out". After my efforts today that's starting to seem like a bargain!
