I have a 1995 940 with six speakers and the right door speaker is blown. I'm trying to decide whether to just buy a salvage speaker ($25 off ebay) and buy a new pair at Best Buy. I'm not really an audiophile but I would like good sound at the right price. So how much might I need to pay for new speakers to match the original speaker sound. How much to significantly improve the sound? I am leaning toward just spending $25 off ebay but if $50 for a new pair would get me an improved sound with new speakers , then I would do that. I probably won't be spending a hundred bucks though. So, are the stock speakers considered to be pretty good?
