Please clarify between the two temperature sensors 200 1988

There are two temperature sensors in the manuals I have and they are not pictured the same as what is under hood.

One is under the number 2 cylinder the second is under the number 3 cylinder.

Is the one under #2 for the temp gauge and the one under #3 for the ignition system?

Do you have any suggestions on how to reach the one under #3??!!
