cr-915(?) m-bus CD adaptor to 3.5 mm adaptor for mp3 player hookup.

i want to play an mp3 player through my cars stereo system. I was wondering if I could hook one end of an m-bus cable to the CD input on the radio, and the other end (the 3.5 mm end) to a mp3 player. I understand that most m-bus adapters are m-bus to RCA red and white, but i can get a RCA to 3.5 mm adapter, but that is a minor issue. i believe the radio uses an m-bus to output to the speakers or possibly an amp system. should i hook the mp3 player up to this output m-bus??
is this setup even possible?
which is better?
