93 Fuseholder 200 1993

Hello All,

I've got a problem with the large fuseholder adjacent to the battery. For those that have seen this contraption it is different than the problematic fuse holder of earlier years. These later model 93's have a four fuse plastic power box that distributes current to circuits called ABS - 40A, Main - 20A, AC - 30A, and Ign - 60A. The fuses in the box are labeled Pacific and eeach comes in it's own little plastic box with it's contacts protuding from the box. Maybe these are used in other cars.

In inspecting the two 93's that are home now, I noticed that on red sedan, the side of the 60A Ignition fuse is somewhat heat charred. On red wagon, the charring is much more significant and in fact it appears that the fuse has been welded to the fuse holder contacts. Although the fuse is good, I (along with some other kind souls )am tracking down a voltage drop that is affecting my Battery/Alternator warning light, so I'd like to get the fuse out without wholesale butchering to replace it and clean the contacts.

Has anyone monkeyed around with this fuseholder and can offer some help.

Thanks,

Marty Wolfson
