serpentine belt configuration 900

The serpentine belt on my 97 960 (bought used) was starting to fray, so I ordered a new one. Before taking off the old one, i thought i'd be smart and take a picture of it so I would know how to put the new one back on. I ordered my belt giving the vehicle, year and model to the Napa man. I loosened the tensioner and put the belt on according to the digital picture i took before taking off the old one. Then i happened to look at a Volvo manual and much to my surprise I discoved that the configuration that was in the digital picture was for a five cylinder. The six cylinder was actually somewhat different. Hmmm.. I took the belt off and followed the configuration the manual had for a six cylinder. Then came the kicker. I had about an inch and a half too much belt. I had ordered the belt giving the right information but it would only fit on my six cylinder 960, the way a five cylinder is configured. Does anyone know what is going on? What should I do? What do I have to do to order a belt for six cylinder configuration? I don't know if this is a serious problem or not as it seems to have run fine on the five cylinder configuration.
