Ok. With all of your help I think that I have found the mark I need on the timing cover to line up the crank wheel. I have a question about the slot in the gear that the crank goes on not lining up with the mark on the outside of the middle pulley, but that can wait until I find out how a human being gets that belt on using the tensioner. There has to be a technique that I am oblivious to. I have the nail in the hole to keep the spring tensioned and I can get the tensioner together to some degree but I cannot get the belt on and believe me I have tried alot of ways tonight. Finally I could stand no more.
Any help on getting this belt on would really make my day. I have gotten so close that I could smell success and then the tab that goes into the hole will pop out or the whole tensioner assembly falls apart a moment before I get the belt on. I did it once yesterday. I did not think it was that bad and I do not remember exactly how I did it.
I thought that getting the crank bolt and pulley off would be the most difficult. It was childs play....put it in forth and used some pipe and no big deal. This getting the belt back on exercise though is laying me to waste.
Thanks to all for all the helpful advice the pictures said a thousand words to me.
Take care,
