Help to stop wagons drivetrain growl! 200 1983

Greetings once again. This post will first, be a refresh to my current state of volvo-rific afairs. As well, a simple question reguarding a drivetrail noise
thats gradualy gotten louder over the past couple weeks of owning the car.

Ok, I made a post a while back about the timing belt, no start issue. In conjunction with some A/C bypass discrepencys. HORRAY!!! The car is now in time, and well as so. It feels as though it has better compression than prior to all this. Too, the A/C pull was succesful! I offset the P/S by mounting bolt 'shims' just inside the pully, and about 14 or 15 walks in and out of the auto store to size the belt exactly. Ended up buying the cashier a beer for the end of the day as his help in allowing my to the 'forbiddin lands behind the counter' lead to some belt aisle learning.

To the real point of this post...

Im taking my Field recorder condenser microphone with me when I travel to work this morning. Im going to place it in the center of the car, right above where the sound seems to eminate most prominant (back passenger center armrest). Then I will stop mid trip, and record from where the drivers seat. Just to give a little more clarity. When I come home this afternoon/tonight I will post the audio (by the way is that possible on here?) and from there maybe better diagnosis.

:Here is a simple description of the sound. It happens like a heartbeat at pulse with the RPMs. Depending on temperature it seems to be sometimes quiet, sometimes loud. ...grOOOOOWwl...grROOOWwl...grROWwl...gROWl...growl... (slow to fast).

:and not to overload, but even after changing the front brake pads another sound still exists when slowing down, stopping, and taking off. Its brake like in nature, yet its a grinding like something is binding the wheels almost. It even adds slight hesitation to takeoff by having to give 'sligtly' more gas then it needs. As this other sound only occurs at times of brake pressure I would say its related... But im no professional. Thanks for reading and talk to yall this afternoon.

ALSO!!!! thanks so much for all the wealth of help thus far. Its taken this car to a new par. I even went the distance to remove most of the electrical from the engine yesterday, bag the unremovable bits, and degreased and pressure washed. WOW. From more tips on the board I made a 23 year old car look like it was 1 year old in the engine. Amazing!!! And the block is a beautiful red! You couldnt see anything but oil deposits before. I love this ride. Peace...

ps-im gona seek a friends Camera sometime for some nice photos for yall. The help certainly places requisite of me to show where im at now. Spick and Span!
