My sedan started acting up last week. I went to pass a car and when I pressed the gas the engine died. After sitting on the side of the road for a minute i tried restarting it. it cranked and fired and ran for a second or two before dieing. after several try's, it caught and ran fine. The same thing happened today on the way to work. Unfortunately it didn't restart right away this time and after trying it for an hour I gave up and got a ride in to work.
I'm not getting any codes from the diagnostic unit.
I am due for a fuel filter but I'm not sure that could starve the engine enough to prevent idling?
Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? any ideas of where to look?
I'm guessing its fuel delivery related, either a fuel pump issue or a pressure regulator issue.
