Hi All,
I had my mechanic replace the front struts a couple months ago as it looked like a lot of work. We've been noticing some occasional clunking when hitting bumps, but I thought it was just a conical bushing going out.
This weekend I replaced the conical bushings on that side, but when I had the car raised, I noticed that the strut tube gland nut was not threaded into the strut tube and was bouncing loose on the strut.
I will be taking the car back to the mechanic to have this corrected tomorrow. My question is this: Since the mechanic forgot to put the nut back on, could this have resulted in any damage to the suspension or screw up the alignment, etc.?
Thanks, in advance.
