Ken C - the pkg lights connected to the knee bone 200 1993

Hey there - You;ve been a big help and thought you be interested in a link to a post from January. My situation, like a LOT of posters is truly one where one part is connected to the.....which affects........so clean........and then remove and replace the ..... - I don't know if it's a Volvo nuance or just the old car story where there's never a truly isolated problem.

Anyway - see Jan 10, 2009 - question about reverse lights/back up lights -- while your helped showed me the problem and I tried some cleaning & a new fuse/bulbs, the #16 circuit is not working for one reason or another. The backup lights are a luxury for me - I just want working instr cluster lights for warnings. I even thought about replacing the oil pressure switch (installing a gauge is beyond my mechanic's expertise) to prevent any problems since it's cheap & hopefully not too much labor to switch out.

The Jan post has some information regarding trunk corrosion, a circuit board problem in the tailight, etc. and some posters wrote about some wires under the center console which are not at my comfort level. I would assume, however, that non-working backup lights are going to cause a break in the circuit and may be the problem for me, i.e., not even the instr cluster at all. Any thoughts? "Art" even suggested resetting the lights w/ a brief removal of the 25 amp blade fuse under the hood - but that may not even exist on my 240 wagon, 1993.

Thanks - hope you don't read this until the week and enjoy the warmer weekend weather!
p.s. the posts are Jan 9-20 w/ posters like Laine, Mrk Lundell, art, joni74, etc. if that helps you find it. Orig was "backup/reverse lights check engine light for a 1989 200.
