sway bar link and bushings 900

1994 940 non turbo 170,000

I'll soon be replacing:
a. R & L sway bar links
b. R & L outer tie rod ends
c. R & L ball joints
d. R & L conical control arm bushings(all 4).

My list of questions:

1. Do I need the car jacked up for all bits of work?

2. If I use jack stands where exactly should I place them?

3. Can I do one side at a time with out jack stands?

4. Any other tips for the work to be done? I've read that the control arm bushings shouldn't be tightened down until the car is off the jack and has all weight on the ground. Is this true for the other installs I'll be doing as well?

Thanks for the help,
liz
