M41+Overdrive - How do I check the Overdrive oil level? 1800 1965

I 've been going through the dicussions on the Overdrive gear oil and what is suitable. With the overdrive still in the car, is their anyway to check the oil level of the overdrive?

I'm planning on cleaning out my filter this weekend, so witoouth having to remove the overdrive, I would need to top it up with SA30 oil. Does the geabox and overdive share the same oil?
