Speedometer strangeness 700 1987

Hi folks,

While creeping down my driveway this morning - after 'popping' my trip meter to restore its function (which kinda worked! The digits were cockeyed though), the speedo rose to more than 30 mph. I was going 5 mph down a gravel hill.

The speedo motion seems different now, somehow. It seems accurate, but its motion seems more... cushioned.

What's up?
