A rookie mistake, it's obvious that I was in a hurry the last time I did an oil change! 200

Wow, 5K miles after the last synthetic oil and MANN oil filter change, I was highly surprised to see an oil coated and "leaky" oil filter! I couldn't even let my mind accept the fact a MANN oil filter could have a leak, but oil was everywhere!

Then I removed the oil filter from the bottom "belly pan off", the filter came off way too easy, ie. not even finger tight! I looked at the filter and it still had the rubber seal attached. Then I looked at the block and saw another oil seal stuck to the filter flange! Cause of the leak was obvious at this point, the last time I did the oil change I was in a serious hurry and didn't inspect the oil filter flange on the block! The "spare" oil seal was left behind by the last filter.

Needless to say, I am embarrassed to have made this mistake, but perhaps, this message will prevent someone else from making the same mistake... with much worse end results!

ps. Not too proud to admit a serious mistake!
